Brooke & Johnny

As I pulled onto a tiny unpaved driveway that looked as if it was a path into the woods and not a driveway at all, I had to stop before I got too far. I was afraid that maybe I had just pulled into someones trail through the woods, I mean I was surrounded by trees and there was no going back at this point. I called up Brooke, just to make sure I made the right turn and she laughed and said “Yep! Just keep going you will see the house.” So as I put it back in drive I followed along this trail through the woods until I finally saw the cabin and pond at the end! As if the driveway wasn’t beautiful as is being so close to nature, the view of the pond and woods was unreal. I got out of the car to be greeted by little Finn, (and when I say little, it is because seeing Brooke’s pictures of her doggy Finn, I always thought he was a huge golden retriever) nope, I was wrong, he is by far the cutest little guy and man did he have fun running off into the woods on his own adventures during our session. Brooke and Johnny showed me around his grandparents land and wow is it beautiful. Growing up with grandparents who lived in Iola, the woods always held so much adventure. It felt right like home walking around the pond and the paths through the woods with the both of them.

In March, Johnny and Brooke have been boyfriend and girlfriend for 6 years! So we figured it has to be the perfect time to capture some couples portraits of these two. With them both being into the outdoors we thought that Johnny’s grandparents place would be the perfect location and something special to the both of them. We turned on the Bluetooth speaker and played country music while venturing through the woods. We even ended the night with our own campfire and of course s’mores. With Marshmallows so sticky (future reference: stick with brand name) we all couldn’t help but laugh while eating them! Thank you for allowing me to capture these moments and it was so much fun hanging out with you both and Finn!
